In most ways yes, in some no. You still have a political war, with daily activities directed by the politicians and thus no hope of victory. You still have a war where it is impossible to look at someone and tell friend from foe. You have a war where neighboring countries supply manpower and supplies, but you can't bomb or attack them for political reasons. The only difference I can see is that we don't have 50,000 dead troops.... YET!

Much more tribal infighting in Iraq than with Viet Nam. In Viet Nam, the country wanted to be independent, having been a French colony prior to WW2. The conflict was about the type of government to assume control. There was at least national identity that each side shared.
In Iraq, not only is it governless, but folks don't like one another and have no unity. Plus, the resource base of Iraq is vast from the oil riches.

In Vietnam, US troops fought regular armed forces of the communist North and Vietconqs, united in their drive for nationalism. North Vietnamese were well organised politically and militarily.
Saddam's regular army, militiaforces have all but 'disappeared', morphed into different factions fighting their own agendas against foreign forces and among the various Islamic cults. The insurgents are disunited proxies of Iran, Syria who claim no link to these factions.
US military were drafted for Vietnam with a high casualty toll; now it's a volunteer military force in Iraq with a much lower casualty rate.

Biggest difference I see is that when we got involved with Vietnam, we had never been involved in a conflict like Vietnam to let us know never to get involved with such a conflict again. With Iraq, we had history to learn from, we just refused to learn from it.

No, it's more complicated. You've got a religious angle which is undefeatable because these people do not fear death whereas the american soldier does.

I think we have less troops than in Vietnam.
We have less casualties than in Vietnam.
The enemy is different.
There are no Iraqi women going up to our soldiers and saying" Me so Horny".
OMG was THAT politically incorrect!!!
