I have a Betta Fish and I was wondering if I can feed it fresh vegetables, like cumber, celery, lettuce etc. I know that you can feed your Betta brine shrimp and all that good stuff. So it would help if you can tell me, thanks!

Bettas are carnivores and gain no nutrients from veggies. The only reason to feed them a bit of mashed up pea is to aid in digestion.

Bettas are easily constipated which if untreated can lead to death. So we betta keepers feed them a bit of mashed pea once a week to help them live longer.

As Evelyn said, Bettas are carnivores, so making them eat vegetables is unnatural. It can be done in the case of peas though. Pellets, bloodworms (live, dried, or frozen), brineshrimp (live, dried, or frozen), and the occasional Ghost Shrimp is healthier for it than fruits and vegetables.

I've had Bettas for years and I've never tried feeding them veggies.

Much prefer to stick to their pellets, and also it keeps their water clean.

I know they can eat peas well if you cook it and you peel the skin off and give them the inside of one pea, you do that to help them go to the bathroom if they can't other then that I don't really suggest giving them vegetables. give them food that is made for them
