as long as ur doctor doesn't see anything wrong physically with u having sex then it is fine during ur entire pregnancy... later in the pregnancy, though, the sperm can cause you to have contractions so some doctors may recommend you use condoms to protect u and the baby... also you may want to do this anways depending on if u have multiple partners or if your partner has other partners to be sure you dont contract an STD that can be harmful to ur baby... other than that, it's fine... oh and another thing... when u become further along they will usual tell u to change positions to ensure you r comfortable because the bigger u get the more uncomfortable it can be
best wishes

Yes, you can have sex in the first trimester. If you have a history or miscarriages i would delay for a while though. We tried for 4 months to get pregnant and lost the baby at about 5-8 weeks by miscarriage. Once we got doc approval to try again we got pregnant on the first try and avoided anything that could potentially cause a miscarriage until we reached 3 months. Of course the doctor said having sex would not cause a miscarriage, but we were not taking any chances. We wanted our baby too much to risk it. We are now 33 wks pregnant with our baby girl and can't wait to hold her in our arms. Good luck and don't be afraid to call your Gyno with any questions, that is what they are there for, you are paying them.(or your insurance company is)

First off, the first poster is incorrect. Intercourse in almost always safe throughout your entire pregnancy, unless you are a high risk patient put on strict bedrest. If anything, sex while pregnant is healthy because it keeps your pubococcygeal muscles fit for when it comes time to push. Secondly, as someone else mentioned, the expanding uterus may be putting pressure on your cervix or bladder. The additional force of an erect penis may be furthering the discomfort. Try voiding your bladder before intercourse or changing positions. Maybe if you position yourself on top you will have more control over the depth of penetration. However, if the pain persists, is sharp, intense or accompanied by bleeding or fever, go see your doctor right away. You could be ectopically pregnant (a tubal pregnancy... very dangerous), in early miscarriage, or have an infection. Best, Aimee.

as long as your doctor has not diagnosed you as having a high risk pregnancy you should be fine to have intercourse, but don't forget to ask your doctor if it is alright at your next visit or just give him/her a call...i hope this helps!!!

Pregnancy made my hormones sky-rocket! Which my guy loved and he still does. It's safe to have sex throughout your pregnancy unless your doctor advises otherwise.
