If the default was English then the computer would have to wait to make sure you did not press the button for Spanish. It would therefore take longer for the transaction.
It should be the reverse where you press the button for English and if you speak Spanish you have to wait 10 seconds.

I agree with you...but, I guess companies that do this, have a large percent of their customer base that do not speak english... and feel the need.....
We should all start learning spanish...at the rate that the hispanic folk breed...our whole country will be speaking spanish in the next few decades.

It can be faster. Whip that finger out and press the button so the program does not have to wait to see if any button is pressed.
