He mentioned his friend is going to New York to watch the yankees play for his birthday and he said he was jealous becuase he has never seen them play anywhere and would like to see them at the stadium before it gets torn down. Its kinda complicated so tell me if you would still want to go considering 1. Were broke so it would have to be cheap seats and eating cheaply and everything while were there (thrusday night to sunday). We can stay at my friends house so no hotel expense. 2. I will be 6 months pregnant by then and not keen on walking. 3. How much fun could it be to take a pregnant woman to a yankees game (considering i know NOTHING of baseball) I think thats about it. The only good thing is he does have family in New jersey he has been wanting to see so he would be happy about that as well. Please tell me if you think he would like it or if its too mcuh trouble. Thanks (we live in miami btw) oh and the yankees would play the baltimore.

I think you actually have at least one more season to attend a Yankee Stadium game before they tear it down and replace it.

I am sure he would like the gesture and of course the game. But if you are in that big of a financial pickle (broke you said) would he really enjoy the game knowing that it cost so much to do it?

I was lucky enough to go there way back in 1983 when I was in the Air Force. My Tigers lost 9-0 so the game itself was not great but it was still fun seeing the people. Even if you are not a baseball fan you may actually have fun if you went as well.

I think he would really appreciate the gesture, my girlfriend took me to a game last summer and it was fantastic. I would say get a couple bleacher tickets (10$ per) and let him bring someone (a friend or sibling) to talk baseball with if you don't know much about it. Theres so much history there you might want to go early and look at monument park (it's free). As for the walking issue, that could be a problem, because parking for the stadium is usually pretty far away, my only suggestion would be to have someone drop you off and pick you up closer to the gates. For a Yankees fan, a trip to the stadium, regardless of the circumstances is a pilgrimage. It's a great present. Good luck.

To me, it wouldn't matter who they're playing. If he really wants to go, and you surprise him, I'd imagine he'd be extremely ecstatic -- I would. You can buy cheap Upper Deck seats or Bleachers seats, but I'm not sure when you're talking about. Yankees games tend to sell out come the end of the season. I imagine you mean the last Series which is the 28th - 30th. Upper Deck really isn't bad. I've sat there before and you can still see things. The Bleachers are a great experience. Everyone's nice out there.

I personally would really love the surprise. I hope everything works out for you. The most expensive thing would be the gas. Tickets shouldn't be too bad. Concessions are high priced, but everything is nowadays. I remember hot dogs being $6. It's just a great experience, though.

Good luck.

1. Although its not always easy, you can still get cheap tickets to yankee games. And then just have hotdogs and sandwichs and dont go to the overpriced Restaurants.

2. I see have seen plenty of pregnent women at Yankee games, so dont let that stop you.

3. My wife doesnt know much about Baseball-- but it is still fun being with her sometimes and she seems to enjoy it anyway.

So i would say you should do it for sure. He will always remember it, and he will feel like a little kid again during the game. Whenever I ahve brought friends or relatives to Yankee Stadium for the first time they always are amazed when they walk in...its like being a kid again.

Well its probably been a childhood dream of his to go watch the Yankees play. I would say unless you're 9 months prego and due that week you should go. It really wouldn't matter which seats you get cause he will be happy with just being there. I've taken my wife to a couple Rangers games and she doesn't care about baseball but its still fun just to enjoy something i like together. Plus I enjoy trying to explain the game of baseball to her I get a kick out of it. I think if you did this you would be on his good side forever.

Only you know how well you can handle a ballpark experience while pregnant, but let me assure you, going to a ballgame becomes MUCH more complicated once the child moves out of the tiny on-board apartment. Right now you know exactly where the li'l rookie is and his/her needs run on autopilot.

I've done both (squired the pregnant wife to a game, and helped wrangle babies/young kids at games).

He'll be at Yankee Stadium with his dear wife. For many guys, that's purt-near close to perfect.

Tell him to start pulling for the Atlanta Braves, only half the distance to travel and a much better team to watch!! Just kidding, you idea sounds great. I am sure he will appreciate the trouble you have gone through for him. His only problem might be the cheap seats, can't see the game that good.

No, it's not too much. Cheap seats are fine, and maybe he has a cousin he could go with, if you aren't keen on going. I think it's a really nice idea, even if he is a Yankee fan LOL

Not meaning to spoil the romance part but what about sending him to the game with his friend or father or brother while you stay at home. The hot weater and the walking won't be fun for you and since you know nothing about baseball he would enjoy it with a fan.

It sounds like you think it's to much trouble for you. Don't be selfish. He will know all the trouble you went through and will love you for it. Who cares if you don't like baseball it's not your birthday. 6mo pregnant - so, that's the 2nd trimester when you should be feeling your best. You only live once-go and have fun for your husband. Baseball games are exciting.
