The only gay men you know are probably hair dressers. We're all varied, it's not like there's a certain field all gay guys go into.

That seems to be fully acceeptable and almost expected in that profession. The more gay, the better, and the more desired they are to be someone's hairdresser. So, if you are straight, act gay, if you want tons of business as a hairdresser.

I think that's a trend that may have run its course. In the past, effeminate gay men gravitated towards professions where they would be more accepted. But now that there is less of a stigma, there are more gay men and lesbians working in less stereotypical workplaces.

I think it is their feminine side coming out, I know some straight men who are hairdressers and they behave in a camp way in the salon but revert to their other selves when not at work.

Gay men can see your hair the way they would like theirs to look , so they always try their best and they are excellent hair-dressers. I would give my eye-teeth to have my hair done by the hairdressers from the program 'The salon',. I love gay men.

I've never met one. I've met flamboyant hairdressers but never one who was actually out. I have met gay firemen, construction workers, business managers, gas station attendants, pilots, and garbage men, just to name a few.
