They do that so no one can click on your profile and see if you are a top contributor (they have been targeted for miscellaneous reasons)....if you ask a question or answer a question, it pops back up...don't worry....

A variable is the number of answers in a given category compared with the total number of answers overall (along with being selected for best answers). I lost mine in three categories though I am near Level 7 due to lacking the percentages Yahoo requires to retain the status.
