Two things were plugged into an outlet and all of a sudden stopped working. I flipped the switch in the fuse box but that outlet and the light in the room don't work now. Everything else in the house is fine. Is this fixable????

The two things that do not work, are the outlet and the room light...not a plug-in lamp. Just to clear that up a little. Thanks.

It's possible the wiring attached to the outlet has burned up or is loose, not allowing for the current to pass to the next electrical boxes down the circuit. Turn off the breaker and unscrew the outlet cover and then the outlet and just take a look. The hot wire is the black one, the white is the neutral, tied back into the breaker panel to complete the circuit.

The on position should be towards the center of the breaker box. Just flip the breaker off and back on. If there are any breakers sitting at half-way, turn them off and back on.

If it is not a breaker box, but a fuse box, then you will have to replace the blown fuse.

If you cannot resolve this on your own, then hire an electrician.

Did you blow the bulb??? If not it could be the outlet it was plugged into, try another lamp, if it still doesn't work do not use the outlet, and call a electrician,

2 good answers and items to check, Check the breaker and reset as explained (off then on) and check the outlet wireing, I have seen a lot of these go bad. Make sure you kill the power 1st.!!!
