I have rolled my ankle (right ankle) twice this summer; the first time in May, I snapped a ligament (possibly two), and last night, while coming down for a rebound playing basketball, I rolled it again. It's awfully swollen, so I will be taking the proper time to heal it and rehab it. However, not one to rest on my laurels for too long, I want to know where I can find an ankle brace to use for support when I play basketball/football/hockey/golf/go to the gym/etc.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ow!
The truth is, you probably would be better off resting and rehabbing it now, in order to keep from having to do so for a longer time later.
But if you want a brace- and you probably should have one anyway- try checking the local pharmacy.
Good luck!

Since you're trying to protect against a fracture, I'd say go with a hard sided brace (I believe it's legal to wear those in basketball). But if you really don't want that I'd go with a soft lace up brace with figure 8 straps. Those should give you plenty of protection.

I played soccer for years and have rolled my ankles dozens of times -- seems like once the ankle loosens up like that, it rolls more and more frequently. Seems to heal quicker the more you do it, although if you roll it in a different direction you'll be sore for a while.
You might try doing some exercises (when it's healed) to strengthen the supporting muscles. In the meantime, stay off it, ice and elevate, and have your athletic trainer or coach tape it for support before every game/practice.

Any drug store or home healthcare store will have them. I injured my ankle badly over a year ago and still have to use a light brace to keep from ever repeating that experience!

Try your local drug stores - they usually have some kind of tight wrap that you can use in instances like this one.
Or, if you have a medical supply store around you try in there. Those are the places you can usually find air casts and stuff to help keep you from rolling your ankles.
Hope this helps. :-)

Any sports equipment store should have them. Dick's sporting goods, Sports authority. Even Target, Wal-Mart, and Walgreens. They're really easy to find.

Walgreens has a lot of braces and a sports shop could help. Good luck to you.
