okay, well, i am really short for thirteen, like not even five feet, not that that affects my social life because it doesnt... i'm pretty popular, i feel that i'm too skinny, "areas" are to small, can't do anything correctly, am i pretty enough, etc. and i always seem to be moody. like i'll be happy but then i will get all sad and i constantly feel like crying because of stuff that happened a while ago, like ever since my grandpa and dog died, i just don't know what to do with myself. do i have depression or something?

Well. I'm 15 and I can relate to that. It sounds like you might have some kind of depression or bipolar disorder. But a couple other possiblities are that you're just going through puberty or you're finding it hard grieving with the recent deaths. Which is normal. two things you could do are if you do feel you might have depression you could go to the link below and take a quiz and see if you are. If not, then you're probably just finding it hard to cope with the deaths. Be open about it with your friends and family. They'll pull you through if they're true.
How i relate is that i am 15 and I'm 5 1 and my height makes me really insecure. Also I feel "areas" are too small on me and I feel that I don't do anything right. I actually had a really bad episode the other night when I felt that way. I was pretty depressed. but hun, you're 13 you have awhile to grow. Look at your parents and grandparents. are they short? if they are then you'll just have to learn to love yourself the way you are. ( me included) It's hard but even some guys would rather have a shorter girl. no lie. But if your parents are taller dont fret, you do have time to fully develop. :] And like you said you're popular now. so people obviously love you for who you are.

I'd like to echoe a sentiment someone before me said: God has someone for everyone. He didn't make anyone to be alone or friendless. Also, you're 16 - almost 17. That's still kinda young. I know everybody is rushing into relationships at younger and younger ages. But you don't need to! If you're only in a relationship because you feel the need to measure up to your sister, who has several years on you, and frankly is probably better suited to be in a serious relationship than someone your age, then you're not in it for the right reason. Im a 19 year old guy. I've never been in a relationship because I haven't found a girl who is worth it yet.

You are unique, one of a kind. You have the opportunity to be the best you can. School, friends, family, plan for your future. You have a choice to be happy, to have friends around you that are good and nice. Remember we all experience sad things in our life. You just experienced some sooner than later. Do things that make you laugh. Always strive to learn something new. Could be about people, places and things. Do good deeds, volunteer somewhere, that humbles you..I will close this how I started.."You are unique, one of a kind"

your depression is caused by your having to give something up that was very dear to u, depression is normal but can become abnormal and unhealthy when something interferes with the giving up process. alot of our self image we have about ourselves is based on our interactions we have with those we love. self worth can be damaged when our inner voice finds fault. also unrealistic expectations of life can effect our self worth. u did not expect to loose your dog or your grandpa, u haven't experienced that much of this in your life yet being so young. so to help how u feel i would get some grief therapy, these people will guide u and help u through this. good luck.

you aren't depressed. i was sad too when my grandpa and dog died, and i'm sure alot of other people have been too. you aren't going to be short forever, and heck you have friends so be happy for what you have.
alot of people are way worse off than you are, so be thankful.

See a therapist. It helps to talk to someone not involved in your life. They give a different perspective.

its probably just a phase, but sweetie dont worry if your pretty or not. today's views of pretty are very warped and i dont think you have to fit into that just to feel pretty.
