I don't think that your question is factual. I'm not sure if cockroaches are not affected at all by uranium, but yes they are less affected than mammals including humans.

First, we don't know what uranium isotope you are referring to - 234, 235, or 238, or one of various radioactive and non-radioactive daughter products. Second we don't know if you are referring to gamma radiation, ingestion, or some other effect, the quantity, concentration, and distance to the source.

Most insects are very tolerant of radiaition poisoning due to their cell structure, as opposed to mammals whose cells are sensitive. That is why insects have been found in the geological record for hundreds of millions of years, and mammals for only a few million. Also the total volume of insects on earth is greater than all other animals.

If you are referring to gamma radiation, keep in mind that natural gamma radiation from uranium decay is a very minor component of the total radiaiton we are exposed to every day in our lives.

Scientist are working on that now , well they have been since they found out. Can live in a radiation bubble but a little raid an they are toast funny in a way.
