I recommend that you take your coin to a dealer and they can give you a good price estimate. Without pictures it is hard for us to give you a value on it. A lot of pricing depends on the condition and rarity of the coin. So again, your best bet would be a dealer.

Essentially, rarity, mintage, mint, particular dates, shipwreck salvage, condition, etc., and how much someone will pay. There are various grading services out there: NGC, PCGS and ANA are probably the 3 most trusted.....'Google' them for more info. Graded coins are usually more 'trustworthy; as there are a lot of coin scams. Most buyers prefer pre-graded coins by those 3 groups, rather than a coin that's stapled between 2 pieces of cardboard with a random "opinion grade" written on it.

The ones that said take them to a dealer are right. In fact see a couple, that way you can check for discrepancies. There are really no free sites and the pay ones take in consideration you know how to grade the coins. I can usually do a few if listed and give a ballpark figure, but without photo's or scans I can't grade them. I can do a few but large lists are to time consuming.

Depends on what you mean? If they are used and have been in circulation a lot, not much -- just the price of silver. BU MS63 Silver dollars are worth good money to certain people. Some other people will just sell them for $23 apiece, not realizing they may be selling one worth over $50,000. Walking Liberties are also close. Very few of the circulated coins are worth much money.

Go to google and search the year and type of coin, for ex. 1944 penny. Results will come up with the estimated worth of your coin

Jimbo - you need to cruise the web for a site that can help you.
Also EBay. It never hurts to see the going rates for things.
