I believe in Love , Honor and I have a problem with the Obey part . You are a little old fashion. Women should not have to give up who she is to have a man in her life. She is still and individual with a brain and she is able to make her own decisions just like you.

It's not necessarily about obeying your husband but by obeying God's word that wives are to submit to their husbands. I do believe that wives should always love, honor and respect their husbands no matter what.

Love - absolutely
Honor - absolutely
Obey - only when he can make me. ;)

Seriously, IMHO "obey" is unneeded in marriage vows. I'm a partner, not a puppet. And any marriage built on mutual respect and common beliefs shouldn't need the "obey" orders anyway.

I believe in Love, honor and respect. I have a problem with obeying. It implies that there isn't a free will. That's ok for pets, but not me.
Mutual respect will go a lot further than obedience.

i think the obey part is a bit midevil or extremely old fashion. back when women didn't get to choose their husbands was that an appropriate vow but today it is an equal partnership and obey shouldn't be included in vows at all. i believe in love, honor and cherish which can be said for both husband and wife.

yes I do but I don't obey my husband...out of respect, I take his wants into consideration. I am my own person and my husband would never want to control me at all. We used Cherish instead of obey.

yes to the love and honor part...no to the obey part. there should be no 'obeying'--that's like something out of the middle ages! a woman should be her own person and should be able to reach a compromise with her husband.
