What you did wasn't criminally wrong but the relatives of the victim can take you to civil courts.

The police can lock you up pending trial for reckless endangerment, and have you examined to see if maybe you should live out the rest of your life in a mental insttitution.
The family of the deceased can sue you and your family for millions of dollars.
It all depends on whether they can prove you did what you say you did.
People here have an obligation to report you to the law enforcement authorities in the geography from which you posted your question.

Why would you encourage a person that you say is your friend to kill himself? It's pretty obvious that he needed some help and he come to you.... "FRIEND". YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!! It's pretty obvious that you have some kind of problem within yourself for you to tell a FRIEND that he doesn't deserve to live!!! You may one day feel like him and you may seek the comfort of a friend and you may get the same response. WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND!!

ever heard of Jack Kavorkian?
They would have to be able to prove that you convinced the guy to jump. But hey with friends like you, that shouldn't be so hard to do.

Suicide is a criminal act that is never prosecuted. Aiding and abetting a criminal act are crimes in themselves. Yes, you can be sued by survivors of the deceased.

No. You are not responsible for someone else's actions.
Although, be careful about what you say to someone who is suicidal.
