My mom and I got into a discussion re laptops. Can someone settle a few items for me. 1) Are laptops using Internet Explorer immune to viruses/spyware and 2) if the laptop is hooked up to another computer that does have antivirus/antispyware software on it, does that protect the laptop if it doesn't have any anti software on itself.

The answer to both questions is no. Each computer needs to have anti virus and spyware programs installed on it.

the only way you wont get viruses is if you have a protection like Mcafee, or some other security software on YOUR laptop. A laptop is a computer on its own, why would you connect it to another computer??? You need to download the security software on your laptop, no ifs and or buts. Sorry if i sound harsh :D lol
