Pain Medicine Use Has Nearly Doubled

Obviously, this is good for drug companies (more "problems", more profits). Because of their influence in gov't and medicine, are they steering us into a culture of drug dependency and lifelong users( AKA customers)?

Doctors prescribe medications. If meds are not needed, doctors don't prescribe them.

What ever the problem is, it sure makes it hard for me to get the pain control I need for my back, every time I go to the doctor I get weird feedback from my doctor, she always goes through this crap of are you sure your in pain, and of course I am I have went through all the procedures necessary and I get no relief from them and I spend more money on worthless treatments such as steroid shots to a branch block and these are not cheap, I at least get some relief from my pain meds, and that is what I can afford. No matter how hard this country tries to defeat the drug problems, it will never happen. I should not have to suffer for other peoples addictions, and neither should other people who NEED pain meds to get through their days. I do not condone abuse of pain meds, but I will not put up with the criticism for using them.

The cost of medicine is outrageous in this country, but they defend it by saying that we are supporting research and development in new drugs. We shouldn't be the only country who supports it
