I read that a tbl of olive oil will help relieve constipation but as soon as it went down it came back up along with everything. I need some natural ideas for this problem. I have increased my water intake. I am drinking 3-4 bottles a day plus my fiber tablets and nothing..just water but due to my migrine tablets I cannot seem to fix this problem it's been a real issue for the past month.

I have had this problem ever since I gave birth to my son 13 years ago. I have finally gotten it under control. Tons of water, lots of veggies and fruits, oatmeal. Keep away from dairy products!!! For every migraine tablet you take, drink 4 8oz. glasses of water. Over the counter products are just a temporary relief. A salad a day with all the water and oatmeal for breakfast and veggies for dinner are what is the best way to put this monster under YOUR control. Good Luck, Best of Wishes.

Ok, you are still not getting enough water to start. You need to drink 8 glasses a day to have the normal amount of water your body needs... add an extra glass or two to get some sort of relief from the water. Add some fiber to your diet. You can purchase fiber tablets or fiber that is disolvable in water (its nasty but it works, chug it quickly and follow with more water). Also eat trail mix. Nuts, seeds and berries do alot to scrape your colon clean. Make sure to put some prunes in that trail mix too (most people dont like them either but they will help you go). This is not going to fix your problem right away, however it will help over time. In the mean time you could try over the counter laxatives until you can get your system regulated. If the problem persists consult your doctor. Your doctor may be able to change the meds you are on for the migranes or give you something that you can take along side that tablet to keep you regular. Good luck hun.

Water and fiber should do it. Make sure you are not eating a lot of white grains and bananas. Over consumption of those things is not helpful. My Mom (Dang this is really gross, personal information - so thank goodness for the anonymity of the internet) uses suppositories - and thinks they really help. You might try that.

Oh there is also a tea product called "Smooth Move" - which I used when I was fasting - to keep things - well - moving. You might try that. You can get it at Whole Foods.

Good luck.

Apples are great for constipation. So is orange juice with lots of pulp. Any raw vegetable, especially leafy like lettuce or slaw. I take a med that is constipating. Here's what I do.

At night, I drink a glass of Metamucil, eat an apple and drink the "lots of pulp" orange juice. It seems like a lot but you can do this over a period of several hours. The next morning I drink a couple of cups of coffee and have no problems

would you eat alot of raw veggies? I suffered with constipation for a good while. My doc told me to drink alot of water but I already do. For the past month I have been eating alot of wholemeal bread and ive been able to go fine. You should buy a bread called Burgess ( I think thats how its spelt) and you will be amazed how quickly you will be able to go to the loo. Also eat alot of raw celery & carrots.

Hope this works, good luck :)

Try adding a stool softener (such as Colace) daily. Miralax is also available OTC now and can be taken daily or as needed. I would stay away from stimulant laxatives as they will cause major abdominal cramping! If this continues to be an issue, consult your doctor for advice.

Sugar-free candies are delicious and they definitely will help constipation. I really like Twizzlers sogar-free candy licorice. If you look on the labels of sugar-free candy, it states that eating it can cause diarrhea so I just eat a few pieces and it helps with regularity. Good luck.

You need to improve your diet. More fruit and vegies and bread, cereals and muesli and pasta, potatoes and nuts. Red meat is the worst and eggs are no good either. The best white meat is fish.
