don't know if they know where you are, however, yes, if the choose to they can get into the bed. GO to HOME DEPOT (i know they sell this) get several boxes of REAL KILL, it is packets that you DO NOT OPEN, put then behind your washer, dryer, in holes, under the sink where your pipes come up from floor or in the wall, under bathrooms sinks. Any place that your children or pets (if you have them) can not get to them. This will KILL them, it dries them up and causes them NOT TO SMELL. When your problem goes down, I suggest you get an inside pet, I had a mini pincher and she caught and killed Field RATS as big as she was, now we have 4 inside cats, and several outside strays that have taken up living here, we no longer have a RAT problem. We live in the country with nothing but woods around us, so we had them bad, and they were bold coming up to you in the living room or getting on the PC desk. We did some remolding in our kitchen, and found out why some of the outlets did not work, they chewed the electric wiring, and we were very lucky the trailer did not catch on fire.
If you choose not to do this, then call a pest control company, they will do this.
oh yea, if you have holes in walls invest in steel wool, not the kind like SOS, just plain steel wool used for cleaning pots and pans, put them in the holes. You can also put in air duct vents and still get the air, but the rats will NOT chew threw them.
hope this helps

RE:
Can/Will a mouse climb in bed with you? Have a mouse problem and I am TERRIFIED to go to sleep!!?
I have tried absolutely everything to get rid of them, without success. But I am most afraid of them climbing into my bed while I am asleep. Can/will they really do this if the bed is neat and there is no food or crumbs around? Someone once told me that mice instinctly "know" that there...

Yes! They do climb on the bed. I have had them climb on me while I was sleeping. I also tested it my leaving some talc powder on my night stand. It looked like they had a rally on my pillow and night stand. I learned the peanut butter works well in the traps, but frosting works the best. Just a little dab of that works great. Also one other tip. If you go one mouse you probably got at least two. If the bait is gone from the trap after you caught a mouse, you need to set it again. They will come back to the same spot.

Just the other day I saw a mouse climbing on a screen from my window. I had placed it against the wall behind my oven and fridge area in my apartment kitchen. Shock filled my eyes and my girlfriend was alarmed like I saw a ghost because I couldn't believe I saw the mouse climbing it. In retrospect it was like the mouse had been on that table before because he was pretty damn quick to get up there and seemed eager to get on a table I have between my oven and fridge. Often that table will have spilled flour or noodles on it so he must have been up there before.
Well that was my story about a mouse climbing but like your friend said a mouse won't come get in your bed while your sleeping because instinctively they avoid human's. It's a survival trait of theirs. My advice to you is set the old fashion mouse traps using peanut butter or/and cheese in the bait part and put them in areas that won't get stepped on. A mouse loves a house and not even necessarily a dirty house. They are a pest but I'd put up w/a thousand mice before one cockroach.

Oh yes they were in my bed on two occasions recently because they left their little "territory marker" pellets. I have examined the whole house, there are no other pellets and I've been awake a while now watching for other signs of activity. None - zilch - nada.....I'm scared to go to sleep too - I read the comments from another lady who saw a mice close by. They have woke me up twice chewing on something, so of course hearing that chewing made me get up and start checking the bed.... sure damn enough.... disgusting!
Thank God I have a disinfection cycle on our HE washer. Don't take any chances with having rodent feces on

Mice can climb but not usually into bed or on furniture for that matter especially if your furniture is high off the ground plus they only want places that are dark secluded and have some sort of food source. I mean if you had mattress on the floor then it would be possible but most likely they don't get on furniture.

It is possible but not likely.
Mice like to be in dark, secluded locations. Your bed is not an ideal place for a mouse to nest.
Get a cat to get rid of the mice.
Sleep well.

No that is not true...mice roam around anywhere, they can climb and it is very possible they will crawl into your bed, it has happened to people.
But no traps are going to get rid of them. No matter if you have NO food and your house is immaculate you will still get them if there are ANY holes in your place. Hire someone to come and fill up all the holes with steel wool and metal. If the person is good, a job like this will take at least a couple of hours, as you will have to move the fridge, stove furniture, he will have top climb looking in closets, under radiators, etc.Put some sticky traps to catch any mice that are hiding. After that, the mice will have no entry way and you will be free.

They can but the chances are slim that they would ever climb into bed with you since they are just as frightened of you as you are of them. Have you tried the humane traps that are just plastic boxes with swinging doors. I've used them and they work great. Mice are smart and can figure out all the other traps, but these aren't threatening and the mice don't mind entering one provided there is something in there they like to eat. I've found that a corn chip with peanut butter on it will do the trick every time. Just load the trap with a tasty treat and set it where the mice like to go. What's also nice is that you can take the mouse, trap and all to a wooded area or land without homes and just let it go without ever touching it. Anyhow, hope this helps a little.
Good Luck
