My avatar looks like I did 30 years ago. There is some grey
hair, but not on all hairstyles. Avatars should be designed for
different age groups. Why aren't they and what do you think
of this?

Excellent question, did you post it in the forum, at the top of the page, on your right. I think that would be great? If you post it, I will vote for it!!
They could put hair rollers and false teeth and all kinds of fun stuff to add to your avatar. I'm not kidding. Personally, being a retired ships Captain, I need my parrot on my shoulder. I'm missing my parrot:~)

I think most seniors are delighted to be able to hide behind a photo of how they looked 30 years ago.

As another example of a representation that is more like a flashback, if you ever looked in the newspaper and saw an obituary for some person who was highly successfully in their life you will see a shockingly-young photo there. Even though the headline may say "Former King of Belgian Congo dies of old age" the photo shows an unwrinkled 40 year old smiling at Harry Truman.

However you are right that if you choose to show a realistic avatar it would be nice if Yahoo offered that choice. I think you will be uniquely doing that but it is your choice. You could always do a generic geriatric and donate that avatar to Yahoo so they can offer it without their having to put any effort themselves into making one.

Find another site for making avatars, the one I made mine from was excellent, just cant remember where that was - my hair is pretty much like it is in the avatar, I have big eyes, but avatars dont have crows feet apparently. I should have a bigger mouth, when I smile most of my face disappears, kind of like the cheshire cat

This has marked the end of all civilizations throughout history.

What we're witnessing ladies and gentlemen is an ostracization, a cleansing of all those who don't fit the bill, or in this case, the avatar.

Write your congressmen.

I'm one of the lucky ones I guess, I managed to get a good likeness with my Avatar, but I do swap it around with this pic from time to time.

I agree. Except for the gray hair, which is close to my own, my avatar looks years & years younger than I do.

I agree with you. The closest I could get was the schoolmarm look.

I'd love to know where folks like Sylvia get those great looks, except gray hair instead.

Cause the world is completly composed of skinny, beautiful, young people. Just like on TV. Us fat, old, wrinkled folk should just pretend we are skinny and beautiful so we don't bother the actual skinny beautiful people. Now get back in line for the Soylent green factory.

The same reason there are none for over weight people. There are a few large clothes, that never change, but the faces still look skinny.

I have to agree with you. I looked at the avitar I had made and decided it was better to use a blank picture frame. I don't look like that anymore, either.
