He has no qualifications to be President and he sticks his big feet in his mouth every time he opens it.

Obama hasn't earned my primary vote. But I do know that he is a lawyer, a Senator and has been consistent on Iraq and terrorism from the very beginning. He has shown some good leadership qualities and strength of character in regards to those who have attacked his past. He also has the drive to not be purchased by corporate America and has raised his impressive campaign funds from blue collar America. If you have a question about a specific stance on a specific issue I can probably answer it.. other than this an Obama supporter can probably tell you more than myself.

His qualifications for president are the same as anyone else's...naturalized citizen and over the age of 35. As far as what he has done to earn your vote? Probably nothing. What he has done to earn mine is show some vision, show some consistency, and show that he is not part of the 'old boys club' that has run this country for too long. I think that his familiarity with Islam will lend to his diplomatic ability (and I believe we need to return to diplomacy) and I think that his youth will lend to some creativity in foreign policy making, which i believe we are also in dire need of. he understands what the vast majority of american's understand, which is that our healthcare problem needs to be addressed.

he does have experience- not as much as some candidates in the race. he lacks a lot of congressional experience, but has been involved in politics (on smaller non-national scales) for a long time (for instance he has had more political experience than Fred Thompson, although he has more experience as a senator)

he stands for some pretty good things and has views and ideas we haven't seen from candidates in the [ast- issues2000.org

he is against lobbying!- yes I already sort of mentioned this above, but its important.

he is charasmatic. he seems genuine. I'm a cynic and even I do not feel he is lying when he speaks.

he has a lot of socially diverse experiences and can see more than one side of things- for instance he is mixed black and white. and one more example is that his maternal family is christian, his paternal family is muslim, and his mother is an atheist (although I believe she died).

thats all I can think of right now, but I just woke up.

Well he's got common sense, that's an improvement.
He isn't a career politician that serves up a load of crap to turn around and screw Americans to serve the lobby cult that he's in with.
He's a change, and that may help us.
We did 8 with stupid, why not give him a try.
Or is under qualified code word for black?

All one needs to run for president is to be 35 and born in the USA.

What has he done to earn the vote?
He has done what every candidate before him has done, and every candidate after him will surely do. Campaign and offer a platform of ideas. If you agree with his agenda, you vote for him, if not you don't. It is a very simple system.

What did Bush do to earn our vote? Dont say Governor of Texas either because the state senate in Texas is the real power.

It' not very far-fetched to believe that a US Senator has a better idea of how Washington works than, say, a former Massachusetts governor or a former New York Mayor.

Why are the "cons" touting them?

Maybe he needs a Rove who'll help Obama lie to the country and use religion to get his votes.

He's ten times more qualified then Bush. Bush was a failed business man / criminal prior to being elected. Hell, I'm more qualified then Bush.
