I'm a bit of a schizo when it comes to music. Some of my favorite aritsts and bands are Tool, Bush, Tupac, Linkin Park (before they decided to go politcal), Mozart, Kanye West, Metallica, Nirvana, The Clash,The Sex Pistols, The Distillers, Nine Inch Nails, David Bowie, Muse, and Bush.
I also like Gwen Stefani because the song What You Waiting For is motivational--especially when you're going to work in the morning and don't really wanna.

I love Tupac as I said before, but I really hate most, if not all of, today's "Rap and Hip Hop" because I get bored listening to songs about Money, Rims, Spinners and how many "H***S" a guy has. Its repetitive.

Oh yeah, I also hate music where I can't understand what people are saying, or that sounds whiny and repetitive. Like the new pop-metal, rock music that's out now. But soon those bands will go away.

Lets see, I am into techno, mostly with heavy bass or trance.
(crystal method, chemical brothers, prodigy to name a few in my collection)
I listen to various independent female vocal artists. Emiliana Torrini is a good example.
I listen to some punk and heavy metal. I listen to old time hard rock, such as led zeppelin, Bob Serger, Bruce Springsteen, George Through Good . I am a big fan of the blues (taj mahal is my favorite) Steven Ray Vaughn and I also like to listen to Boots Randolf.

I also have some middle eastern singers and chanters in my collection. Try Azam Ali - Endless Reverie for a good taste of what I like.

Lately I found out I have been getting into old school hip hop from the 80's and early 90's. Run DMZ is good. Lets not forget Frank Sinatra or Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and various Jazz singers.

The only music I despise is modern rap with negative lyrics (gangstra rap or money and hoes rap.) and screamer or growler music. The type that the front person growls or screams all the lyrics instead of singing gets on my nerves

I like all different kinds. My most favorite is classic rock. Pretty much any rock from the 60's and 70's is awesome. I like a lot of country too. Since my childhood was in the 80's and 90's I also like a lot from those decades. I have to say though, in the past few years there has hardly been a song or an artist that I actually do like. I'll find one every now and then, but it's rare.

And I stay completely away from rap, hip/hop, r&B, etc. I cannot stand that crap! It's not even music.

I have wondered the same thing. How many would answer as derisively IN PERSON? Easy to sling insults through a monitor. If the question is so exasperating, why answer??? If you want to set someone straight on what is and is not classical or correct someone on what is a song and what is a symphony, then do so POLITELY. When I first started listening to classical music several years ago, I did not know the difference between a symphony and a sonata or a concerto and an overture. I went for months with only the first movement of Beethoven's Violin Concerto. I did not know there was more to it than one movement. I simply have not had an education in classical music. One can certainly receive a harsh education in classical music from many who have had the education, but I have learned that there are a lot of educated idiots on this forum.

I've always listened to country music, but the garbage they call country now, isn't worth a darn!..I will listen to mid 90's to earlier country.
You can't listen to any of the rock now, and the rap just makes you want to vomit!
