I don't know how "common" it is, but it is a pretty good idea.

For a single unattached woman, it is very sensible and responsible to carry a condom.
That way if the matter of sex arises and the guy doesn't have one, she does. Sadly some guys don't carry condoms because they do not wish to use them....and many women who are concerned about STD's and yet are on the pill also carry them....sensible in my book.
Both sexes should carry/have access to them. The days when only condoms were available in the Gents loo are long gone. The ladies has them too now.

I don't know many women that carry them, but then again I hang out with a lot of married mothers who don't need them anymore.
I think the women still expect the men to have and supply the condoms... which is a dumb idea I think. If the man supplies the condom, the woman has no way of knowing how old it is or where he has been storing it. 2 things which contribute greatly to the integrity of the condom itself. If it's too old, or been stored at too high a temperature (i.e. in the guy's wallet in his back pocket), it is MUCH more likely to break.
I think women should be more conscious of this stuff and have their own condoms that they know are safe.

I think its a good idea for both sexes to carry condoms. With my boyfriend I use to carry them around in case. It is always a good idea to have them becuase you dont know what could arise. In this case, if one of you doesnt have any, at least the other does. Having sex without a condom is NOT okay

It is very common for women to carry condoms. If you do not feel comfortable carrying them then you should not be out there having sex. You must protect yourself first.

I always have a supply in my bedside table, but I don't carry them with me unless I have plans and want to make sure we are prepared.

Hello, men's health, can I help you?
Oh I'm sorry, you have the wrong number. Can I redirect your call to the women's health board?
It should be common for women to keep birth control on them, but not tell their boyfriend. She might teach him that it's okay for him to neglect his responsibility.
