Make a list of the things you have done very well, and anything you have taken on and completed that is outside of your basic job. Give him the list, and tell him you feel that you deserve a salary increase.

If you've already gotten a raise in the last year, you are not likely to be successful since a raise once a year is fairly standard.

Good luck.

I worked for an attorney once. He was very spend thrifty. I had to sit down with him and prove my hours every month that I wanted my check. I was much younger so it took me a few months to figure this out. When I finally did he was needing to be convinced that I had worked. If you gather your information and present it to him in an organized fashion he will get the facts and give you a raise. He understands facts right? Then go for it!
