Not very many!
I was at level 6, had 6 violations during that time, and got canceled for reasons that Yahoo would not share with me.

Tip: Don't use your primary screen name to play at YA. You will lose your mailbox and everything else.

I don't know. I think it probably depends on the kind of violations?

I got 8 or so violations this weekend for stupid stuff.

Doesn't take much. There's this insidious "Troll Patrol" vigilante thing going on in Y/A going around reporting people willy nilly. They troll through all your answers to pick up any sort of transgression. I got busted after I told their 'leader', mrtrollpatrolboss, now masquerading as a woman, JanieMarie, due to the heat, I presume, to stick his vigilante group when the sun don't shine. His 360 profile is here http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-W1dJd.88abJXhvFLl_3vyzzJqHyDhghQKg--?cq=1
I've been in contact with Google asking them to start a Y/A type ADULT site in competition. I hope they take it up.

I had an account suspended after only one week and one violation notice.
I still don't know what I did and Yahoo never answered my e-mail inquiry.

a LOT. i first came to this website like a year ago. i used to get reported for STUPID stuff. people are just so uptight, they'll report you for ANYTHING that they don't like. even if you give out an opinion that is different from theirs, they'll report you. so last month, they finally suspended my account. i was VERY MAD. i lost all my points and all my best answers(i had like 200 best answers) and i had 30 fans and contacts. i had to start over and get a totally new account. and it sucks.

It can be at random number.
I was suspended after about 12 violations on my first acct.
I hope this one doesn't get suspended.

I dunno, I got a violation without them even telling me which part of the ToS I violated. I laughed and kept answering questions. I think Yahoo might just contact you to warn that your account will be deleted.

I think it depends more on how many different people report you.
