An attempt to make a computer program act "intelligently". Perhaps the programs learns from experience or applies a set of generalized rules to choose the most appropriate solution to a problem. Often problems are not clear-cut (at what point would you say that a man is bald for example?) and AI attempts to answer such "fuzzy" problems.
Other applications of AI would be automated recognition of objects, piloting of drone aircraft, driverless vehicles, etc.
