I have a tank that consists of platys, guppies, mollies, gouramis ans swordtails , i have noticed on all 3 of my mollies they have a kind of white fur on there eyes one of the mollies has it quite bad and the other two half as bad, just about noticeable. I have got them out of the main tank and now the fish in the tank are healthy and have no problems with there eyes - 1.)what is the disease the mollies had?
2.) Will the other fish get it ?
3.) What shall i do?
4.) Is there a cure/ slolution to put in the tank ? if so how much in british pounds?

Thanks danny

they have a fungus disease easily treated by going to your aquatic shop,
i use inter pet
the aquarium range of treatments it treats mouth rot fin rot,and all fungus's,you need to treat the whole tank even though your other fish don't have it,removing the fish that were ill, still means the disease is dormant in he other tank.
i never remove my fish when sick i treat the whole tank, you will need to follow he instructions remove any carbon you have in the filter and leave for 7 days,if that has not worked treat again, after doing a 30 percent water change,
i never keep mollies in my tank they are so prone o diseases especially he black ones,i kept losing mine to diseases,so gave up.
i pay 7 95 in the uk for my treatment for fin rot and fungus
bob dylan the blue stuff asyou put it treats ick your fish dont have ick,the treatment should be a milky white colour

Most likely a Saprolegnia Fungus that is causing the fur like growth around the fishes eyes. This can spread rather easily and all the finsh from that tank need to be treated to be sure you have taken care of the problem.

I would suggest treating with a copper based fungus / parasite medication. As this is fairly easy to treat, just follow the directions on the package and it should clear up within a week or less.

I am in the US and can't really tell you how much the treatment may cost, but this type of medicaiton is very reasonably priced here in the US.

It sounds like they might have a fungal infection. You did the right thing to isolate them from the other fish. You can get a liquid to put in the water from your aquarium supply shop and it should only cost a few pounds at most.

i could propose you to no longer upload any tetra's or backside feeders as you're over stocked. Your betta is in all hazard wired considering the fact which you probably did no longer do your activity appropriate. Ugh I cba telling human beings such as you what you have carried out incorrect, you will not at all learn, ugh! 2 betta's will require a filtered and heated divided tank which is likewise cycled.

I dont know what its called but you get this blue stuff, if you go to an aqutic centre and ask for the stuff that turns the water blue you should get the right stuff it works and the water does not stay blue for long.
