on the phone sometimes i pretend to be my sister because of some conversations with the cable guys from the internet company (the connection is failed very often recently) and the account is on her name

while at work i can't really say my name or position or company when i need some information so i am pretending to be someone else so to get the information i need

Once, when my boys were 4 & 7, I told them one Sat. a.m. that I wasn't their mother, that I was her twin sister, and that she had run off to Kansas City with a man in a Cadillac (yeah, I know I'm terrible). My daughter heard me, and we kept the lie going all morning, until my 7 year old said "Mama" and when I answered, said "I knew you were my Mama". Just FYI - we are a family of practical jokers, and trust me - they've done worse to me.

Not intentionally. Few people know who they really are so being "yourself" is more difficult then people think it is. There is the public persona we present to the world. It is not intentional for many and useful for most for self protection.
