If you've received a violation (as most of us have), did you email Y!A and inquire as to what the violation was? I actually read the entire TOS this past weekend and can't find why I was in violation of their terms. It's not the fact that I got a VN, it's the fact that it is, as most VN's are, ridiculous.

If you mailed them, did you get a response? What was the outcome? I emailed them and I haven't gotten a response nor do I expect to.

i did and they sent me a thing saying it was being investigated. shortly after when i got deleted i sent them like 20 or 30 emails and they told me that the reasons for me being deleted were disclosed. and they said it may have been by mistake but that they were unbable to retrieve my account information. which i find a hoot because i have recieved best answer for numerous questions on that account that is supposedly deleted an unavailable. right, oh well. as you can see i am happy anyways- i got my badge back... cisco is moving back on up!

I have been sent violation notices 5 times and have questioned each of them. I always get an email response saying that Yahoo will look into it but nothing more after that.

I think it is the standard email.

Nothing ever changes although I should have received my points back and my questions reposted.

Sandy :O)

I e-mail them with every VN I get and have never once heard back from them. Probably because they have no answer for me when I ask them WHY I got a notice for asking bozo questions. They're just sitting there with their thumbs in their butts sayin' "Duurrrrrr...."

I have e-mailed them twice in regards to the same violation notice and never r'cvd a response.
Quite frankly, i think if they are going to send you a violation notice they should tell you what guideline you have violated.
In the real world cops give tickets for reasons and the reason is written in plain black and white on the ticket.
Violation notices should work the same way or they are useless.

yes i have twice. once about banana milkshake and then there was "is anyone as mad as me?" oh and there was a question about will anyone ever answer me? and there was no response after i sent about 8emails to them for each one i gave up, but i think its f*cked up how some random pr*ck on here can click that abuse button and get anything removed just cos they feel like, regardless of whether it is or is not a violation of anything, and yahoo answers customer care dont do sh*t when you contact them cos its wrongly removed.
HEY SOMEONE COULD REMOVE THIS COULDNT THEY? maybe they could kiss my a*s at the same time - tossers.

Hi Beth,

Someone told me not to waste my time as Y!A doesn't answer you but at the same time if you still have the violation notice from them & your posted question you could try the appeal just maybe you can get it erased-non-violation.
Of course I answered a trolls(didn't know they existed) question is all I've been able to figure out (posted question being in food & drink but it was a sexual question-my response go beat off-also said LQQK this is food & drink you need to post somewhere else). Oops a violation from some troll, kid, smart azz, religious do gooder.
Have a good day.:0)
Additional Details: what's another violation? TOS-good for nothing.
Don't count on an answer unless you have what you need to appeal to Y!A then get your letter taking it under investigation-general letter we all get. (wtf) is that?

Sometimes you get a response to a question about a violation. It is a form letter that tells you to read the TOS. They are just too lazy to actually read our questions.

I know exactly what you are talking about I always e-mail them back b/c I dont honestly see where I commited a violation of any sort. They never e-mail back but I still just want them to see where I was coming from. Its just if someone complains regardless of the situation they have to hit you with a violation I guess.

I question everything, and get nothing in reply.

Evidently, you have to belong to certain secret or not-so-secret societies, or have certain political beliefs to be treated fairly around here.

ACTUAL explanation from forum:

Reply: Well, after checking your question, it is a violation because it was a comment, not a question.

How many of THOSE kinds of "questions" do you see on the board?
