When I first moved into my house, I was sleeping with the bedroom window open. I heard heaving breathing outside my window. I looked out and saw these glowing red eyes. I must have gasped because I heard "woof?". It was the neighbor's Irish Wolfhound. Scared the bejesus out of me, and him too.

Just last week I heard a group of what sounded like teenagers running through my driveway about 10 feet from my bedroom window at 2:00 am . I called the police and reported prowlers and ask them to patrol the area around my home , they showed up in less than a minute and made a few passes around the neighborhood , I don't know if they caught anyone or not . After that I turned on this very bright outdoor spotlight which lights up the whole area .

One time I thought I heard a helicopter outside. I went to check. I always check because we live a few miles from a major airforce base and once in a while you will see one of those huge dual propellor choppers. They always fly low and if they see you sometimes they will wave and circle around a couple times. But this time when I went out I couldn't see anything. It was afternoon so I should have been able to see it. It sounded like it was hovering in one spot for a while so I really should have been able to see it. My wife works for the army at the main engineering center so I sent her an email. I jokingly said that one of thier "invisible" helicopters was hovering around outside and I could hear it but I couldn't see it so tell them to go away. The funny thing is my wife never got that email. So that got me into goofing around with sending her different types of emails every now and them. And whenever I send something wierd like the one above, she will not get it. I think it is pretty cool as long as they dont come kick the door in and haul me off.

On July 4th, someone tossed what sounded like a small explosive device at a neighbor's house. Really great to have police with flashlights crawling around at 2 am...as if the assailant was hiding in a tree just to see what was going to happen.

My husband and I were sitting in the living room watching TV when we heard a sound like a train run right b our house and blew out the window that was behind us. It was a tornado and it also took out our apple tree. It was so loud that it took a while for our hearing to get better.

A raccoon in our shed that is right outside our bedroom wall. It scared the Bejeesus out of me since my husband wasn't home and it sounded like someone was stealing us blind. I got up the courage to turn on the shed light and look out the door when I discovered the little bandit rummaging through some boxes. He was cute!

That's a tough one. I once heard a man grunting and groaning. I looked out and there was this guy changing clothes and trying to get jeans up on his sweaty legs. He had robbed a store in the area and was running through the yards. The lady across the street had clothes hanging out and he stole them to change into. He was by my basement door changing. HE got caught!

Well.. one time I heard screeching, in the trees, it sounded like monkeys! But they were more likely racoons. Also, when I was ill I had a hallucination that my nextdoor neighbour's dog was barking at 4 in the morning, except she was barking from the wrong side of the house.
