I have a son who fought in the Middle East and is a Paralyzed Veteran of America. He has soldier buddies visit him often & when he's hospitalized in a VA hospital I get the opportunity to converse with many soldiers. Believe it or not guys, they don't all think we should be in Iraq. Most of them think we should still be in Afghanistan.

As a Marine, I don't believe the American people assume that the military personnel of our country support the war in Iraq. I believe I think the American people may make the mistake of labling the war on terrorism as the war in Iraq. I like to think most Americans believe in the fight against terrorism not necessarilly a sustained war in a specific country that will never see peace due to their tribalism.

I think that ALL soldiers should have a definite opinion about this or any war. Our country has the gift of having one of the most intelligent, broad minded military forces on the planet. I would place them above all others. I think that your son is one of them, too. I think that if you remember when he or his other soldiers were joining the military, they had frank discussions with their loved ones to discuss the possibility of going to a combat zone. I think for a person now joining the military to believe that they had no possibility of ever seeing a combat zone would be foolish. The primary job of a soldier, marine, seamen, or airman is to wage war. They should have all understood this fact long before they ever walked into the recruiter's office. That being said, it's a soldiers job is to go where the war or conflict is and follow the orders of the officers appointed above them. Remember, it's part of the oath they took. I, too want to see our military back home out of any conflict, as long as the process does not put our forces in harms way.

No. YOU think all americans think all soldiers support the war in Iraq. You're just stateing this as an idirect way to get the story out about your son. And of course, I doubt you believe what you asked in the question yourself..It would be impossible for ALL americans to assume that ALL americans sodiers support the war in Iraq. And im sure you have enough common sense to know this. I support the troops as much as anyone, and I think the war is just as wrong as any war. But your son made a commitment. I'm sure he knew what he could possibly be getting into when he joined

I don't think they all support the war in Iraq.
Troops in battle don't operate as a democracy.
There are some who oppose the war my question to you is why did the majority of those in Iraq voted for Bush.

Our troops deserve our respect. For those who have been there and seen first hand I am willing to believe them over someone here being fed lines from the anti-war people.

I don't believe a majority of the soliders support the war. However, I hope they know that I support them. I'm grateful for them and that includes your son!

I wish all of our soliders could come home.

I don't think most americans believe that at all
I believe that most are scared as heck&don't wish to be there and want to be home with their loved ones.
BUT they signed up for it and they are doing their job.

I do not believe in teh war but I believe in our soldiers. I have nothing but respect and prayers for them.

Because soldiers are under orders to support the war. They have no choice or freedom to think for themselves. If they dont think as told, they could be court-marshalled.
