I have kitchen cabinets with no door pulls that are hard to open but don't really want the expense of drilling holes in every cabinet face and installing knobs. Are there any products out there that allow you to do this -- like magentic knobs or pulls?

Last I checked drilling holes didn't cost anything.....Knobs are cheap as long as you buy ones that are in stock.

Buy or make a template so you put the hole in the same place for each door.

actually if they are renting and are not allowed to drill the cabinets unless they are replacing them after - which costs too a lot, then it makes total sense as to what they are asking.

You people are rude and need to think before calling this person lazy.

I know that on HGTV they did show a way to use magnetic knobs or drill-less knobs. Check HGTV.com to see if they can help!

I know this is a very old post but they had them back then too! SHeesh

These can be found all over the Internet, and in your home stores.

I have been looking as well because I live in an apartment and not allowed to put holes in them!

Good luck and pay no attention to the negative comments! Some people have no life and have a need to troll for places to spew their garbage!

I suppose there might be but why? You pick out handles that you like center them and mark your whole centers and drill. Put the bolt into the handle and you are done.
I can't imagine a stick on would be that good and would only be as good as the glue or the wood.
A magnet handle would have to be so strong the cost would be so high by the time you did all your pulls you could pay someone to open and close the doors for you. Not really but it would be very expensive.
Drill them and be done with it.

Usually, the only magnetic kind of cabinet or drawer knob is made for child-safety purposes. The door stays closed with a heavy-duty magnet system and a special knob is used to release the magnet, allowing the door to open. You only put the knob up to the door or drawer when you want to open it. You might could install these magnets, but it might get expensive. Also, only one knob comes with the kit, as far as I know, so you would have to use the same knob for each cabinet and drawer. I would say your best best is to just bite the bullet, drill a few holes, and install regular knobs. Just pick a single, simple knob for the doors and drawers and this way you only have to drill one hole per door/drawer. It will be easier if you make a template to mark the spot. It seems complicated but is really quite easy. You could also look in your phonebook for a local handyman. They could give you an estimate on how much it would cost to hire someone to do the task for you.
Here's a link to the magnetic kits:

The expense of drilling holes? Oh you mean you're lazy. Good luck.

Drilling holes is the best way. If you dont want to, you can try an apoxy based glue (depending on the surface), but risk them falling off after repeated pulling or twisting.

I would like to do this too with magnets. If they can make earings that stay on with a magnet, they should be able to make handles that stay on with magnets. Our cabs are melamine, and have finger pulls, but the melamine is not made well on the sides, and it is peeling off, so I want to touch it as little as possible.

I would drill the holes any other means would be not recommended, gluing them on would be a problem when you decided to change them or one was damaged,it may ruin the finish getting them off.
