i think i had to do that once when i was a kid. i think it's fair. at least it's productive. better than sitting in a corner by yourself. it's the same thing they make chaingangs do on the highways. litter duty is probably less humiliating than having to stand with your nose to wall until further notice.

They did that when I went to school, nothing wrong with that. We had to pick up all the garbage that collected around the fences. We were also taught not to litter.
I live in a rural area and whole classes go out on a nice day, garbage bags in hand, and clean up along the highway and around town. It is an excellent lesson in civic responsibility as well as a nice break from class.

Yes, we had to do it at elementary when we polluted the yard too much. It seems nice to me. While we were doing it we lost some classes! It's not very disgusting, students at elementary and high school sometimes do far more disgusting things just for fun.

It sounds good to me. I taught at a high school that used this as an alternative to Saturday school. It even stood the test of a threatened lawsuit.

yes i think its a great way to punish but the question is after doing your punishment will you do the crime again if you say nno then it works.
