I have looked down upon the clouds from airplanes at 35,000 feet or more many times. I have not been outside to see what it is like. If one goes up that far, he will not have enough oxygen in the air.

Do you mean above the clouds? It is blue and clear and the best place for an aeroplane to be if there is a storm below.
