It's actually "Knot for nut thing." It's an old expression from back in the pilgrim and indian days. The pilgrims saw the inidans trying to tie knots to put up their tepees, they're we're having a helluva time. The pilgrims were hungry, and saw the inidans had peanuts. So.....Now of course, this all happened before the pilgrims took all their land and raped all the women.

"not" and "nothing", being negative, cancel each other out. So it ends up meaning that it was for something.

I've always understood it to mean"I won't do that for anything"(you may have to offer)
but then it would seem,there are many interpretations.
