You have an increased amount of mucus, and this caues some allergy or cold like symptoms. I had them with the first pregnancy, and with this one as well.

I know it sounds weird, but I think that a runny nose and even congestion can be a symptom of pregnancy. When I was pregnant, I continually had allergy problems. I sounded congested all of the time. However, this was when I was further along, like in the 5th or 6th month. Anyway, good luck!

I sure hope so! We've been TTC for 25 Months now with no luck. All of a sudden I have a runny nose every single morning. No other cold of flu sympoms, I'm waiting to see what's going on... it could be nothing, or it could be something...

I had cold symptoms just before i found out I was pregnant. Plus I did read an article were due to the hormones it does something to the blood vessels in the nose which can make it run so it could be!!!

I definately noticed that my allergies got worse as soon as I got pregnant. It was springtime, though so I had a runny nose anyway. Heartburn and frequent urination were more noticable. Good luck!

Yeah...I am about 7 wks, and have had a bad cold for 3 weeks now. I truly believe sinus congestion is a pregnancy symptom.

I've heard about this, too. I know of at least one woman who got a cold around the time of conception. The idea is that the body is so busy preparing for pregnancy that your normal immunity is weakened. Who knows if it's true or not, but it has been true for some people.
Good luck, and please keep us posted!
