You are smart because you study a lot.
Genius? Well, I don't know you personally and I doubt I've read any of your publications so it would be hard for me to say.
Just as a little suggestion, have a little fun every once in a while. You'll find that a social life really complements intelligence.

I think that you are smart. And, if you study a lot, then you will develop this intelligence. You were born with certain abilities, its in you to develop them or not.
A genius is someone that is more than just smart or even just smart, I think, as someone just replied, its someone that looks and sees things where everybody else had never seen them. A genius thinks in a different way. I have been told that I am a genius. Many times in fact. But I know that I am not, I am just smart. And yes, I have worked a lot and I have developed my skills as much as I could. But Ive seen guys who are teenagers solve Mathematics problems in the Mathematics Olympic Games in a way that its real bright. I think that some of them probably will became way better mathematicians than I am or could ever get to be.

A genius is a person with distinguished mental prowess. This can manifest either as a foremost intellect, or as an outstanding creative talent. The term also applies to one who is a polymath, or someone skilled in many mental areas. The term does specifically apply to mental rather than athletic skills, although it is also used to denote the possession of a superior talent in any field; e.g., one may be said to have a genius for golf or for diplomacy.

you only excel because you study a lot. but thats a good habit to develop. a genius is one who excel in his particular or choosen field. he may excel in math but not good in english or other fields. like there are many people who are genius in music, poetry, literature, sports, etc... there are people that are considered genius because they can answer any question provided it is in line with their field. like there is a child prodigy who at the age of 7, was once asked of the result of 37 raised to 7. in a matter of seconds he recited the answer and when it was checked with a calculator they gave the same correct answer. but when he was asked how he arrived to such instant calculation, he replied that he dont know, and adds, " the answer will just come."

a genius can even not be an a++ in math or science but he/she is a person that even regarding one little subject he/she thinks out of the box and asks him/her self different questions because only by asking him/her self a question that nobody else ever thought of is consider a genius, at least should be but how do i know I'm twelve!!!
