I moved to washington state from canada with my boyfriend. We are soon getting married, and I brought my 4 yr old daughter with me. yesterday he took pics of private convos I had on my email. Then he tried to txt his friend to bash me. I went to grab his phone and clawed his hand. HE CALLED 911! It was an acciden, and the cops came. I told them it was ridiculous, they took my name, dob, and my daughters info. They said im not charged. Hes threatning me, saying if I argue with him again, he will get me in trouble. Should I be worried about this? Can he charge me for accidentally scratching his hand, and could I lose my daughter over this? My family are in canada, my best friend told my mom, and shes freaking out wanting me to leave. I dont know anymore...

If you were not charged then he would have a seriously hard time charging you after the fact. The police themselves realized this was ridiculous. Say you had been arrested. The police are not going to leave a child with a nonparent so she would have gone to child services. The cops are not going to deal with that unless absolutly necessary.

Bottomline on that part is that he just can't "call" and get you in trouble. If there was further trouble and the police showed up odds are they would remove HIM from the situation. They assume that you as a mother will take care of your child. So best to remove the male who is not a husband.

Plus why is he acting like this? If things were so bad why would he not leave instead of grabbing the cell and taking pictures. He may have reason but still..... a judge will see through it all.

In the end the result will be the same and you will end up going home after much trouble. Do you wish to be married in a controlling relationship? Sure you may work it out but that requires serious maturity all around.

Your Mother is your family and always will be. Your boyfriend is not....... so just go home and then sort it out. You and your daughter will be safe. If the guy loves you enough he will figure out that he needs to work at being with you instead of using threats to stay with someone.

As you were not charged, at this point it is highly unlikely that anything would happen; however, I would have to vote with your Mom and best friend that you may want to re-think having a relationship with a man that calls 911 if you accidently scratched his hand and is threatening to call the cops and try to get your child taken away from you for any reason.

The downside is that if you would accidently injure him and he called the police, as their is a prior report on record, they may arrest you next time.

Sounds like your boyfriend is your bigger concern -- he's totally controlling and creepy, and if he's threatening to try to get you locked up for arguing with him, he's not the one you need to be moving in with or marrying, especially since you also have a daughter to worry about.

No, of course not...worse case scenario is that DSS would open up a case against you...first they have to find reason to do so...it has to be serious...don't worry...get rid of the boyfriend he is a loser....be more particular about the men you bring around your daughter

I wouldn't worry about getting charged, but I would worry about this boyfriend of yours. He sounds like an @ss. I'd be getting away from him before he gets physically abusive.

You have nothing to worry about, other than your relationship with your boyfriend.

That scenario is absurd unless you're omitting details.:)
