If you dont work at all, and have one child liveing in the home and all you get for money is child support from the child father. Can you claim the child and get back money fileing your taxs. This person i no dose this but i didnt no if this is right or is it ok.

This year, you could because of a one-time refund of a particular telephone tax that had been improperly collected in previous years. Otherwise, you need an income to get a tax refund.

Sounds ok to me...filing is probably optional in your case (if income is less than required amount), but by doing so you most likely get credits, although not the EIC with only one child (unless income is less than $12,120 as of 2006, then you qualify).

Go for it. Your submission is not fraudulent so long as you don't knowingly or obviously falsify responses. Submissions are logic-proofed, but generally not audited.

contact the irs and ask them what you can do. they will tell you if its legal or not.
