Personally, I am concerned he may not be lights out like before. But, overall, his return should give The Tigers the mental lift they need to come back. Your thoughts?

Oh Yeah, I still believe The Tigers take the division by at least 1 game. Should be a very interesting 6 weeks!

There is no doubt that MY ZOOM will come back as good as ever. He's young, driven and always is looking for ways to boost the clubhouse morale. Honestly the pitching staff needs to get it together. Are you bummed about them benching Inge? I heard his batting is like11 in 56 or something like that....come on! :(

The Tigers will do this Georgie...we just have to believe. Hence the reason we just got our playoff bill. AWESOME seats though ROW 1 baby!!! ;)

GO TIGERS!

He can certainly help them a little bit, if he pitches the way he is capable of pitching. If he's last year's Zumaya, then he will help them win a few games, but it's unrealistic to expect him to be dominant right away. The guy hasn't pitched in a long time, and even though he has had minor league rehab, he won't have the same arm strength yet.

I am a Yankee fan, and saw Detroit all four games this weekend. They are not hitting well right now. The only game they did any real damage was when washed-up Mussina pitched. The Tigers won last year with pitching and it just hasn't been there this year. They scored a ton of runs in the first half, but their hitters have really hit the skids. Sheffield was red hot in June and for the first part of July, but he's slowed down a lot too. Some of their hitters have some holes. Whenever the Yankees needed a big out, especially a strikeout, Brandon Inge was there to whiff for them. He is just like a lot of the Tiger hitters, he can hit a mistake, but a decent pitcher can exploit his weaknesses.

I think the Tiger hitters are due for a hot streak that could carry them past Cleveland, but I don't think Zumaya can do it by himself. They also need to put Guillen somewhere besides shortstop. He is a very good hitter, but he can't cover any ground anymore.

I think that if he comes back with the same lights out pitching, Zumaya, will be a confidence boost that the Tigers need in their bullpen.

It's hard for a team to play at a winning level when their bullpen keeps throwing batting practice.

I do know that I wish he'd come back about a week later so the Yanks wouldn't have to face him...but...ya can't always get what ya want.

Yes, Tigers has very tough rotation but need the works on the bullipen. As they need working on last innings as can lead Tigers win the game in end game. They still chase to win division title by beating Indians. Tigers will finish as second or third best win record in AL behind Red Sox or Angels.

He will be O.K. but come on, one player cant lift a team physically and mentally!

He may give the Tigers a extra one or two game boost at the most but for now the Tigers just need to start playing better!

He may not be lights out when he gets back, but he doesn't have to be. He just needs to bring a burst of energy to the team to give them some motivation. This weekend they looked flat compared to last year's playoff run where they looked dominating. He will be good enough to get the job done but I wouldn't expect him to shut EVERYONE down right away. The Tigers need their two injured starters back, that will help them the most, they need to solidify their rotation, which has been shaky the last 2-3 weeks.

Zumaya will definetly help a bullpen that has struggled mightily this year, but the Tigers better hope Cleveland does not get hot because with the Yankees have all but wrapped up the wild-card

First of all are you kidding me. The tigers bulpenn and pitching in general have been bad this year but a one inning guy will not give the team a lift sure he will help but not that much. If you want someone to give your team a lift how about bonderman or verlander but not zumaya.
And if you think they will beat out cleveland remeber this...
The Cleveland Cavaliers win 4 straight to beat the Pistons 4-2
The Ohio State University beats Michigan 42-39

GO TRIBE!!!

Where were they? I mean 2006 you go to World Series & lose but prior to that, you haven't had a winning season since when. From 1999 to last year, you guys had one winning season. I don't care if the Tigers take there division, but did you Tiger fans have a good weekend? The Yankee fans did.

I think he may help a little also, but the starters need to really become good.Kenny Rogers must come back or we're doomed.
Also somebody other than Magglio must start hitting consistantly. This new kid,Maybin, will not be Craig Monroe like last year. They should have sent Craig to Toledo for help.Trading Craig will HAUNT the Tigers this year-I don't think we make the
playoffs-sorry,I'm really bummed also.
