Not when it is placed in the wrong places. Like a weed. Reminds me of the constant pissing a dog does to claim his territory and then another dog comes by, smells and pisses on top of the previous dogs urine. Leave it to the animals!!! This kind of graffiti downgrades a neighborhood and proves how shallow and disrespectful the person is to his people and especially to himself! All to prove he exists? or to prove "I was here". Who the hell cares??
However, that said (had to get that off my chest), I do see some very artistic elements in it. I think that more neighborhoods/government councils should get with these artists and redirect them to allow special places to display their art. But never as a gang relation, or dog pissing contest, etc. I have seen it happen and it gives the artist a sense of pride as well as working with the community, instead of against the community, vice versa.

I dont approve of it but it is art. Also people need to know that graffiti is the drawing not what the drawing is on. Example. If there was graffiti on a train. the train is not the graffiti only the drawing. Graffiti is not bad as long as you keep it off of train and buildings and other stuff keep it on paper.

Yes graffiti is considered art.

Example: When your a teen you look at buildings and realize how boring they are. So graffiti is a form expression, kids or teens express how they feel about the building by doing that.

Sometimes. If it is on Public property and not private. And if it doesn't have foul language that children will see and question. I have seen some really pretty graffiti from time to time. As a kid riding on the train into New York City I saw really colorful graffiti as we would go past Harlem and the other boroughs. =-D

If it is on property that is not owned by the person doing the graffiti, then NO it isn't art. It is a destruction of private property. I do know of business that have allowed the true art, not the signatures, to be on a wall of the business, and it is beautiful.

Yes, if it looks good....these crappy gang sprays that haven't any thought other than their # or symbol are NOT art. They are a sign of decay in our society. But the colorful, thoughtful paintings I would consider art...simply because if you stop to take a look and you may find yourself thinking, questioning, enjoying, even so much as wondering what was the artist thinking, what is he/she trying to convey; just as you may do with any other form or media of art.

No, it is quite the opposite. Art is constructive and takes time to master. Graffiti is destructive and amateurish.
