buy products? is it the colours they use? the name of the product? the name of a well known brand thats appealing? the packaging? the price? the quality of the product despite the pakaging? what attracts you to certain products and why? is it because of the way a product is positioned on the aisles as in eye level and it catches your attention? or the vivid colour that catches your eyes 1st? Is it the advertisements that make you look out for new and improved products? hmm...thanks in advance, i look forward to hearing your views :)

personally also its the way product is shaped, eg:
look at : coke bottles and other bottles, they based on the shape of a womans body.
Personally all of us who are working class would leave adevrtsijng behind if we could find the same products half the price at a half the price shop, even if the new products are not appealing in there looks etc.

Okay, being a college kid, you live in an unreal world. So here is the reason support has dropped. We live in a democracy, it goes against our way of life to have cap and trade laws. Laws such as those, suppress our freedoms. If you truly want to make the environment better, then instead of punishing by artificially raising costs and eliminating jobs, do the capitalistic thing and find a cheaper and more practical way to reduce pollution. Solar energy and wind power will never be a major player, they are both expensive and unreliable. Let me put this in a way you can understand. What if someone decided that college students are a huge source of carbon em missions (they use large amounts of electricity, produce enormous waste through paper, plastics, chemicals for experiments, etc and do not produce anything beneficial to replace what they take). As a result, we make a law that adds 10 percent to the total costs for each student (tuition, books, lab fees, room and board, etc), we reduce the amount of students allowed to go to college and prohibits any student living in campus housing from owing/poses sing televisions, dvd/CD players, stereos, microwaves and any other unnecessary item that uses electricity. Would you support it? I doubt it. But let's say some guy finds a way to sell you some of those products, that will be cheaper to purchase and use less energy (saving you even more money), then I bet you'll buy it. Why? Because it is benficial to you.

definitely where they are in an isle. if they are close to the ground or up really high i don't notice them... most of the time i stick to what i know but if i want something different I'm looking for quality,price and definitely bright colours.lol they look good in your bathroom and bedroom but also sometimes about brands like if I'm using face wash i wont get this particular brand because it don't work but yeah mainly i go for colours and things at eye level

nope i think its practical brain washing, they put them on repeat on the tv i bet theres not a singly program thats not 25% adverts.
then we go shopping and theres that many diferent products we just go for the moste familliar that we thinks popular. or at least enuf of a percentage of us do to make them billions off puonds in some cases.
eaven if the product isnt any good if its cheap enuf to produce sounds good and gets enuf publisity enuf of us will pbobbly buy it to make them a proffit

Image - ie that it's "cool" and/or "sexy" to have the product.
Words and phrases - ie "help you work rest and play" "Because you're worth it" or whatever.
Colourful videoclips of fast cars on open roads, women's hair colours when dyed, etc.
Music and sound with subliminal messages telling you to buy the product.
