I agree with the users above on Vocalise Op. 34 no. 14 by Rachmaninoff, Air on the G string by Bach and Meditation by Thais

I also recommend:

Adagio in G minor by Tomaso Albinoni

Winter from The Four Seasons by Vivaldi

Nocturne no. 20 op. posth. by Chopin(you MUST hear this song, the melodie is to die for)

Vocalise Op. 34 no. 14 by Rachmaninoff

Hungarian Dance No. 1 by Brahms

Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini by Rachmaninoff

Serenade by Franz Schubert

Consolation No. 3 by Franz Liszt

Cantabile by Nicolo Paganini

I have recordings of all of the above pieces on my computer and would be happy more than happy to send you some song files:)

For 'cello, "The Swan" from Saint Saens' "Carnival of the Animals" is a very calm and melodic piece. For violin, Bach's "Air on the G-string" (save your jokes for later, folks) is a classic.

Happy listening/playing!!

Vocalise is very good add to that Mediation from Thais by Massenet, most things with Pavanne in the title will do

You might want to try downloading Vocalise, Op.34 No.14 by Rachmaninoff.

I can send it to you if you like.
