Try getting into a local church bulletin, convenient stores and laundry mat people do not need a house keeper they need food and a washing machine. Try beauty shops, up scale, you need to get in front of people that have extra money they can afford your services.

My sister has had moderate success with this approach. It brought in some extra money, but was by no means enough to live off of. The work can be sporatic (she's never very busy-- one or two clients at a time, at most), but it would depend on the area you're advertising in and the demand.

Also, please keep in mind that it's worth the investment to make sure that your fliers are very neat and professional-- no typos! People have to trust that you're a professional to want to let you in their homes. So, no hand-written fliers! Print them on a computer, or go to Kinkos and have them do it for you.

if they see your advertisement at a laundry mat, most likely they can't afford to pay a house keeper.

I doubt it. People need folks to work are doing pretty much what you are. In most cases a company won't hire you if you can't or won't interview. It's no big deal. But necessary.

hvykey has the right idea - she needs to reach women with full-time jobs, possibly children, and fairly high disposable incomes. They will found at hairdressers, supermarkets (several chains do advert boards), clothes shops.
