Avatars are anonymous. No one is going to recognize me from my avatar as much as they would from a picture of myself or one of my dogs. So, I can be honest about my job, my boss, and my opinions without having to worry about any repercussions.

Well i would rather use a picture of my dog or cat but i dont want to open up a 360 account just to do so. So avatars are the next best thing*the only other thing*.
