I just bought a second hand honda jazz... its only 4 years old and this morning when i tried to start it, there was nothing... no lights, no sound... dead. Its like the battery is dead but i just got a new one last week and no lights or anything were left on.
It has this keyless start thing that the previous owner put on and its always beeping and now it is like broken and wont even lock the car. These two things have co-oincided... Are they connected? Is the key draining the car battery or something?
Ah! What am i going to do? I have no roadside assistance because i'm only 16 and can't afford it. My P test is in 3 weeks!
Please help me ha
xx

First off, check the obvious. See if the battery terminals are tight and make sure the Battery has a charge in it. Have the Charging System checked as well. A bad Alternator could also be the culprit. Second, you suspect the Keyless Start system, you will need to disconnect it in a way that won't affect the rest of the vehicle's electrical system. It is possible to have a short or bad module in the Keyless Start System that is draining the battery, but don't ignore the stupid small stuff like a glove box light or cargo lamp that doesn't shut off like it should.

You will have to get the car jump started, and then you need to get the alternator checked. With aftermarket equipment, it is hard to say if they are the cause of your problem or not. It could be that the low battery voltage may be causing the problem with the remote starter. You can take the car to autozone or another auto parts store and they will check your charging system and the battery for free. Good luck.

It is possible that it has shorted out and will drain the battery. Jump start the car and take it to an alarm place and have the remote start either fixed or disabled.

Nothing wrong with the alternator. Go with Jody D's advise. Car starters screw up all the time. I hope your "P" test goes well. Whatever that is...ha.lol

You might want to have the alternator checked, if that is working properly then you might want to consider taking out the alarm/ autostart.
