Well, those were the older days, now today is modern day and in the future. You have to accept it. It's evolution and things constantly keep changing. I mean, no young indian guy wants to really wear a doti, do they? But older men probably do becuz that's what they are used to, right?

Change is the constant companion of human race. It will continue. The mode of dress is closely associated with the nature of work, weather and availability of material. It is happening not only in India but all over the world. Women in India used to wear different modes of Saree. Now that is also changing rapidly. I think at this rate India will have an uni-sex mode of dressing soon. .

If you are uncomfortable wearing trousers, I'm sure it is still quite acceptable to wear dhoti in India, though, for the life of me, I can't imagine why anyone would.
