faith, why cant you see that the critisism of the maccanns comes from the fact that they left their children, alone.
luke n, if you want to make a statment, i suggest you ask your own question, instead of using my question.
you did not even answer my question,

an honest to this question would be, NO.
the critisism of the maccanns stems out of them leaving the children alone.
if they had not done this ,,they would be as much criticism towords them

If Madeleine had been abducted from the kids club, then I would hold the kids club 100% responsible for her abduction.
I wonder, if the McCanns hadn't had their children with them on holiday, would they have felt "safe" leaving their apartment unlocked, leaving their valuables (passports, money, jewellery etc) in there inlight of the fact the resort had warned them of a spate of recent burglaries?

Nope because at least the parents did something to try to keep their children safe. I would not have good things to say about the daycare providers however. But then again...who goes on a family vacation only to dump their kids in a daycare. I could see one night out for mom and dad but if it were a daily thing as it was said by hotel creche staff then thats a bit different. According to Staff the children were in creche everyday.

How incompetent do you think kids clubs are? If a child is abducted whilst being looked after at a kids club then the carers need to get shafted! The thing that bothers me about this is that there have probably been dozens of child abduction cases of british children in the months before and after madelaine was abducted, but does anyone care about or hear about them? The media latched on to the bad parenting first and now its stuck in the limelight. I hand on heart want her to return safe but is she more important than anyone else?

Yes it was a family holiday, but from what the mother said she was obviously enjoying herself.
She recalled how happy Madeleine had been during the holiday, particularly at the children’s club where she played.
“Madeleine had a ball. They did swimming, went on a little boat, went to a beach, did lots of colouring in and face painting,” said Kate.
“On the evening before she went missing, before she went to bed, she said, ‘Mummy, I’ve had the best day ever. I’m having lots of fun.’
“They had a little dance prepared for Friday.”

No, because they would have made proper childcare arrangements for her in good faith. In that case, the responsibility would be completely with the kids club.
But she wasn't, was she? She was abducted whilst left alone at an age when she was completely incapable of looking after herself.

If Madeleine was abducted while in the Kid's club, i do believe that some of the most vociferous of those who slate the McCanns would slate them then for leaving her in the Kid's club rather than taking her along with them.
I say this 'cos of a few comments made earlier wherein it was insinuated that the children were kept in the kid's club repeatedly and spent hardly any time with their parents which is untrue as can be seen from the snaps before the abduction.
My take its got something to do with the way Gerry conducts himself. Some people just love to hate him. Its a stupid reason to target anyone but all he has to do is breathe & some people are ready to ignite...
Maybe he reminds them of an awful uncle or something...

If that was all the evidence - I would not be so critical. They would have been seen to use a proper method of child care, and taken reasonable precautions. It is not, however, something that I would do on a FAMILY holiday.

Well no becuase when you put your kids in the care of others you expect them to look after them like you would - or better than you would in this case.
If the McCanns had hired a babysitter that night and she had nipped out and the girl went missing would they be saying 'oh thousands do it, don't fret' or would they be suing the *** of the resort?

Of course I wouldn't blame the parents! It would then be the responsibility of the people that were looking after her! And of course that would be horrendous too! But at the end of the day THEY left them ALONE! You are absolutely right Heather...Totally agree with u on that!

It just didn't happen that way. Good try though. The parents
did not use a babysitter, they left the children alone, one
died or is no longer with us. The parents were irresponsible.
Simple as that.
