Put it to a sorta fast country beat

Jumpin' off the high dive
Into a pool of risk
Takin' a chance
Goin' after what you want
Whether it be that man
That's always on your mind
Or that job promotion that's on the line

You've just got to get,
get it done
Don't waste any time
Thinkin' it over in your mind
Your Jumpin' off the high dive

Take that leap, jump the gun
You'll never know if you don't try

That's all I have on that one so far

Okay put this one to a slow country beat

It's the one place every country child dreams of,
The place you go and all your hopes come true

then something something

I wish I may, I wish I might
become a star tonight

You lie awake thinkingof that moment
When you'll get to sing up on that stage
All your screaming fans
Wishing that they could be you

I like the first one a lot. It's got a couple kinks in the lyrics rhythmically that need to be worked out - but you are good at visualizing yourself doing these songs, and it's testament to your confidence.

The first one needs more structure, more cohesive thought, taking the leap and jumping the gun are two distinctly different thoughts and processes. One is a leap of faith, the other is knee jerk without thought. Grab the main idea and make sure your verses support it, the chorus brings it out, and the bridge is the additional/supporting idea.

Keep working, sometimes it is a "stream of consciousness" exercise and finally it all comes together.

If you didn't write country in the first place, then don't write country at all.

It really depends on the music in the background.

didn't read them......as soon as i saw "country beat" i knew they sucked.....sorry.

they say that country music speaks to the heart, the problem is that it has to go through your ears to get there.
