There are 2 variables to your question. What size barrel and
the weight of each one. There are different sizes of barrels which range from 31 to 55 gal apiece.
Assuming a barrel weighs 1 pound for each gal it will hold.
Fresh water is 8.3 pounds per gal.
The weight can be from about 280 pounds to about 500 pounds

A liquid similar to water? Like what, vegetable oil, gas maybe? Google weights and measures and find a site that gives you a weight to volume scale for different liquids. Then do the math. Or get a big scale, then fill the barrel with water and weigh it.

A wooden barrel is 55 (fifty-five) gallons. Water at 8.5 pounds to the gallon would be 467.5 pounds plus the weight of the barrel about 50 pounds so, assuming the barrel is fifty pounds then the total weight is about 517.5 pounds.

Multiply the capacity of the barrel x 8. If the capacity is 50 gal. then the wt. would be 50 x 8= 400 lbs.

Water roughly weighs a kilogram per litre. So you need to know how much water the barrel holds. or did you mean - How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood. Cheers, Tim
