Someone told me he was killed in a drive by shooting, but I can't find anything about it.

No, this is a hoax - he not only directed a FanFilm recently, he also acted in another one, and is alive and well!
Don't believe everything you hear; check those stories out (especially about actors and Hollywood peeps) on the IMDb -

Don't know either, but his first appearance in the ST universe was on STNG as one of the people trying to hijack the Enterprise when it came in for cleaning and everyone had to leave the ship. Picard went back for his saddle and tricked the hijackers into believing he was someone else of lesser importance.

He's not dead. In fact he just directed a Star trek fan film called in search of roddenberry i think.

Looking at the IMDB page it doesn't say DATE OF DEATH like it does for others on the site so I think someone's having a laugh with you (not a funny one!)

Nothing on his web page about being dead. Nothing on Star Trek.com, either. I'm sure they'd have the story if it was true.

Not that i have heard, He can be seen in the new Die Hard movie. He has 1 line i think, he is one of the homeland defence guys.
